Snow and Ice

This morning we woke up to gently falling snow. It was on top of freezing rain, so it is a heavy snow. I took this picture of the pine needles this morning. It doesn't show up as well as I would like. The snow looked delicate on the fans of needles. It was very pretty.


We went to the library this afternoon for a program. When we got home it was pretty dark. As I was turning to head into the house I noticed the footpath light under the mirror was really bright. There was ice over the light and an icicle hanging from the mirror. I wonder if this is where the idea for fiber optics came from?
