Well, I'm still looking for the picture of Namdaemun Gate, but I saw this photo and thought I would share it. We visited DC a few years ago. When I saw this picture I found it interesting how when you look at the monument itself you can not see a color difference in the marble, but it is very noticeable when you look in the reflecting pool. The construction of the monument was halted due to lack of funding during the Civil War. When construction was resumed the remaining marble was obtained from a different quarry, thus the different color.
