Friend of God

This morning at church God was really ministering to me through the of songs we sang for praise and worship. When I'm singing and praising God I am usually singing to Him and I really mean the words I say, I often personalize the songs. Today we sang "Still Standing," "Friend of God," and "Holy Spirit Rain Down." I've listed the lyrics below and found clips for you to listen to if you are not familiar with them. As we sang "Still standing" I felt like God was telling me if you (not me but anyone) are here today than you are still standing. Then we went into "Friend of God". Again I felt like God was speaking to my heart saying you are His friend! No matter who you are, where you've been, or what you've done, you are His friend! It is amazing! So I'm thinking yeah God, "I'm still standing because I am a friend of God!" That is awesome. Then we went into "Holy Spirit Rain Down." This is one of my favorite songs. I bought my first Christian CD on purpose for this song. In it God says His Holy Spirit is my comfortor and friend. Wow, I needed that reminder! He calls me friend, and says He is my friend and my comfortor!
